For customers comparing Chromebooks and laptops in Kenya, the HP Pro c645 offers a practical balance of performance, portability and business-focused security. Its Pike Silver finish, aluminium display cover and slim profile also give it a clean, professional appearance.

HP Pro c645 Chromebook for Work and Study

The HP Pro c645 Chromebook is well suited to professionals, students, schools and organisations that mainly work through a browser or cloud-based applications. Chrome OS starts quickly, provides built-in security features and keeps routine system maintenance simple.

This Ryzen 5 Chromebook can comfortably handle email, research, document editing, online classes, video calls, web applications and media streaming. It is especially useful for people working with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet and other browser-based tools.

AMD Ryzen 5 Performance

The AMD Ryzen 5 3500C processor has four cores, a 2.1GHz base clock and a boost speed of up to 3.7GHz. Its integrated AMD Radeon Graphics handles the visual requirements of everyday business applications, HD video playback, presentations and browser-based content.

Combined with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, the processor provides smooth performance when moving between common work or school applications. The memory is onboard and is not designed for normal user upgrades.

Fast 128GB NVMe SSD Storage

Unlike Chromebooks that rely only on small-capacity eMMC storage, this configuration includes a 128GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. It provides faster local storage for downloads, offline documents, applications and regularly accessed files.

Cloud storage can still be used through Google Drive or another compatible service, making this Chromebook laptop suitable for users who want both local and online storage options.

14-Inch HD Anti-Glare Display

The 14-inch screen has an HD resolution of 1366 × 768, a micro-edge design, an anti-glare surface and brightness of up to 250 nits. It provides a comfortable working area while keeping the Chromebook compact enough for travel between home, school and the office.

This listed configuration has a standard non-touch display. The 180-degree hinge allows the screen to open flat, which can make it easier to share content during a meeting or classroom discussion.

Chrome OS with Chrome Enterprise Upgrade

Chrome OS is designed around web applications, cloud storage and Google services. It offers quick startup, automatic background updates and multiple layers of built-in protection.

This configuration is supplied with Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, which allows a properly configured organisation to enrol and manage the device through the Google Admin console. IT administrators can apply security policies, configure applications and manage organisational access. Enterprise enrolment requires administrator setup and an appropriate organisational account.

Compatibility notice: This Chromebook does not run Windows as its standard operating system. Before ordering, confirm that any specialised accounting, design or business software you need is compatible with Chrome OS or has a suitable web-based version.

Wi-Fi 6 and Flexible Connectivity

Wi-Fi 6 provides a fast and stable wireless connection when used with a compatible network. Bluetooth 5 can be used with wireless mice, keyboards, headsets and other supported accessories.

The port selection makes it easy to connect storage devices, displays and everyday accessories:

• 2 × USB SuperSpeed Type-C 5Gbps ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.2
• 2 × USB SuperSpeed Type-A 5Gbps ports
• 1 × HDMI 1.4 port
• 1 × headphone and microphone combination jack
• 1 × microSD multi-format card reader
• 1 × Nano Security Lock slot

The USB-C connections can be used for compatible charging, accessories and external displays. The built-in HDMI port also allows the Chromebook to connect to a monitor, television or projector without requiring an HDMI adapter.

Camera, Audio and Keyboard

The integrated 720p HD camera is suitable for Google Meet, online classes and routine video meetings. A physical privacy shutter lets you cover the camera when it is not being used.

Audio by Bang & Olufsen and dual stereo speakers provide clear sound for calls, presentations and media. The full-size US-layout Chrome keyboard is spill-resistant, while the multi-touch touchpad supports common Chrome OS gestures.

Portable Business Design

Starting at approximately 1.54kg, the HP Pro c645 is easy to carry between meetings, classrooms and remote working locations. Its Pike Silver finish and aluminium display cover give it a professional look without making it unnecessarily heavy.

The model uses a 58Wh three-cell battery. HP rated the platform for up to 10 hours when new under its controlled testing, although actual battery runtime on a refurbished unit varies with battery condition, screen brightness, wireless use and workload.
